Undergraduate Online Programs Tuition and Fees
Their online undergraduate programs are designed to accommodate adult learners with a variety of college experiences. Up to 90 hours of college credit can be transferred. Costs for their undergraduate programs are as follows:
- $199 per credit hour.
- $50 technology fee per term (they offer six eight-week terms per: two in the spring, two in the fall and two in the summer).
A three-credit hour course will have a tuition cost of $597 and the program requires completion of 120 credit hours.
Financial Aid
University of the Cumberlands is one of the most affordable private universities in the USA. The university offers financial aid options like grants, loans and scholarships to give access to quality education to low-income families.
Scholarships are available to traditional undergraduate students attending classes on campus. Available scholarships include Presidential Scholarships and Transfer Scholarship. There are also merit based scholarships including Army ROTC Scholarships, Athletic Scholarships, Christian Leadership Scholarships, Lewis Appalachian Scholarships, Music Scholarships and Patriot Scholarships.
Given based on different criteria, this may require a minimum grade point average (GPA), ACT or SAT score or a certain level of financial need.
The Federal Work-study program uses federal funds to provide a way for students with financial need to earn money to help pay any educational expenses.
There are different types of loans available, for both parents and college students.
Student Life
Life for individuals with disabilities is simple for them at the University of the Cumberlands because the institution has created a campus environment that enables them to access every facility.
University of the Cumberlands has partnered with Pioneer College Caterers to offer healthy and affordable meals. Pioneer College Caterers works exclusively with Christian universities and colleges and embodies similar Christian principles with the University of the Cumberlands.
University of the Cumberlands offers comfortable and secure residence halls which make the learning experience much more exciting and fruitful. All international students reside within the university.
Student Diversity
The University of the Cumberlands welcomes students from over 40 countries in their undergraduate and select graduate programs. Most international students are from Africa, Asia, Europe and the UK. UC strives to maintain its international student status by participating in orientation programs and international student association events that support their learning at the university.
Getting to know Kentucky
The hardest part about being an international student is getting comfortable in a completely new environment. Fortunately, the University of the Cumberlands is located in Kentucky, a state with a population that is generally kind and friendly, and a beautiful countryside that will make you quickly feel at home.
Furthermore, life for an international student in Kentucky is quite cheap. Actually, living in Kentucky is less expensive than it is on average across the U.S. as a whole. This goes for everything, from the accommodation to the food, life is simpler in Kentucky.
Kentucky is a state in Southern USA and therefore has a lot of eating joints with amazing Southern style foods. Some of the must-try foods in Kentucky are the burgoos, the hot browns, derby pies, Louisville style chilli, bourbon balls, henry bain sauce and most commonly, barbeque.
