IELTS is the most popular English Proficiency test in the world with more than 3 million test-takers annually. It is designed for non-native English speakers to assess their language skills.

IELTS is a major academic prerequisite that opens doors to international education. Everything You Need to know about IELTS

Age

Candidate must be at least 16 years of Age.

Scoring System

The IELTS score is based on 0-9 bands. 

Test Format

IELTS test can be taken in two ways, IELTS paper based and computer delivered.

Passport

Candidate Should have a valid Passport.

Score Validity

IELTS Score is valid for 2 years from the date of results.

Syllabus

IELTS syllabus includes four sections: Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing.

Exam Fee

Registration fee can vary between ₹14K – ₹15K.

Exam Duration

The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Attempts

Can be taken any number of times, but exam fee should be paid for each attempt.

Listening

The listening paper has a total of 40 questions divided in 4 different tasks which are to be finished in 30 minutes.

Speaking

Speaking test is an interview with the examiner which lasts up to 11-14 minutes. The test consists of 3 tasks.

Reading

The reading paper has 3 passages with a total of 40 questions divided into a number of tasks. The candidate is expected to complete the paper in 60 minutes.

Writing

Writing test consists of two sections with a total test time of 60 minutes. Section one consists of various types of visual information and section two consists of a topic to write not more than 250 words.
